This role

The company is committed to building its presence on the south coast based on our Christchurch office location. We are seeking ambitious, talented, and highly motivated people to play an integral role to help drive the business forward in the local area.

Initially the role would involve supporting and collaborating with project managers from across the business to meet the needs and expectations of our clients. We are keen to ensure that we continue to provide the high-quality innovative solutions and service that our clients have come to expect from us. Your ability to learn, adapt and provide new thinking will be invaluable to the role.

Some specific requirements of this role will be to:

• Assist with the production of Flood Risk Assessments, Sustainable Drainage and Foul Drainage Designs. 
• Support the production of drainage and highway designs to secure S278/S38 (Highways) and S104/S106 (Water) technical approvals for developments of all types and scales.
• Support with tasks / projects with moderate supervision including the production of reports, calculations and drawings, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, within agreed budgets and to a high standard.
• Provide updates on the progress of tasks in line with programmes.
• Write reports and liaise with Clients / Project Managers on the management and co-ordination of projects.
• Ensure compliance with the relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in infrastructure engineering and construction.

Requirements

We expect you to:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree qualification in Civil Engineering or similar; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and written skills.
• Be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to developing a career in Civil Engineering.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and ideally Power BI).
• Have basic skills or a good understanding of AutoCAD (or other industry specific software).
• A full UK driving license, as the role may require you to visit sites only accessible by car.
