Scheme Objectives:

To deliver a Travel Plan for the Beaulieu Park development in Chelmsford. The scheme includes the provision of Travel Information for Residents, together with introducing new Public Transport Services.

Mayer Brown’s Role:

• To provide Travel Information, as shown below, which makes it easy for users to understand where to catch their bus and where it sets them down in the centre of Chelmsford.
• The results are monitored through Travel Diaries and Travel Questionnaires which are stored in a database or analysis.
• “First” the bus and rail company have provided a glowing reference for the proposals stating that:

“…the number of people travelling by bus has increased by 24% between April 2003 and November 2003 compared with the same period in 2002. This is an exceptionally good performance and clearly demonstrate the benefits of developers and operators working together in partnership to encourage residents to use public transport, especially where levels of good quality service are available, as have been supplied by “First” in Beaulieu Park, and also through the provision of good quality information, as provided by yourselves to residents.”
