Public Transport - Woking Station Access Review
Project Section:
Transport PlanningClient:
Woking Borough CouncilScheme Objectives:To improve existing access arrangements to Woking railway station - especially for pedestrians.
The station has poor linkage with the town centre and suffers from limited space for drop off facilities/taxi ranks etc.
Mayer Brown’s Role:
To review access arrangements for all modes of travel. Work involved the identification of issues and the development of a package of improvements to improve station accessibility.
Proposals include a canopy in front of the station, along with various traffic management measures to facilitate pedestrian links between the station and the town centre.
Mayer Brown also completed the Traffic Regulation Orders associated with the proposed changes to parking, taxi ranks and bus stop locations, which formed part of the proposals.
