Hepher DixonScheme Objectives:
To undertake a noise assessment and advise on suitable mitigation measures to secure a planning consent.
Mayer Brown’s Role:
An early consultation with the relevant Environmental Health Officer identified concerns about the various noise sources in the area, including an adjacent busy road and nearby commercial uses. A noise assessment was undertaken which included detailed long-term monitoring. The assessment then used this noise data, along with supplementary planning guidance, to advise the developer on the mitigation measures required for individual plots. These included the provision of acoustic fencing for some back gardens and specified glazing units depending upon plot location, orientation and floor level.
