Oxfordshire County CouncilScheme Objectives:
To provide the Oxfordshire GTE board with an assessment of the feasibility and potential route alignment of a new guided public transport system.
Mayer Brown’s Role:
To undertake a detailed feasibility study, including route alignment and design, for a major transport infrastructure project in Oxford at a total cost of £8 million. The guided bus corridor would allow an express bus network to connect the city centre to key Park and Ride sites and surrounding towns. The study examined:
- Geometrical design standards.
- Constraints.
- Traffic flows and capacity.
- Environmental considerations.
- Cost estimates.
The work was presented to the Board of GTE for Oxfordshire, who accepted the Mayer Brown findings.
