Gleeson HomesScheme Objectives:
Provide the Client with sufficient information for the submission of a proof of evidence in support of a planning application.
Mayer Brown’s Role:
Mayer Brown had to establish if air quality was an issue in this small residential development within an existing residential area. Proximity of the development to the M27 gave rise to concerns about noise and the impact on clients and residents.
Additional concerns raised were whether traffic associated with the new development might give raise to Air Quality issues. Basic modelling was undertaken in order to establish the levels of pollutants at the site.
Liaison was undertaken with the architects to acquire a good appreciation of the layout and the screening to be afforded by a retained area of woodland. These findings were demonstrated to the Environmental Health Officer for Eastleigh and a written confirmation was obtained that air quality was not an issue and that a formal air quality assessment was not justified.
