Scheme Objectives:To investigate the potential for introducing two way access for cyclists on a main shopping street through Preston City Centre.

cycling.
Conflict between cyclists and other road users.
The impact of cycle lanes on other traffic and capacity at the
major links.
Future development and regeneration in the area.
Providing better interconnectivity between local routes.
National Cycle Network (NCN) routes and the city centre.
Impacts on parking and taxi ranks.
Impacts on existing city centre pedestrian space.
How to improve streetscape within the city centre.
Adequate driver awareness of cycle movements, especially in
relation to contra flow cycle facilities.
Identification of new cycle parking areas.
