Scheme Objectives:

The site was one of a number of potential housing development sites included in the City and County of Swansea’s Draft Interim Housing Land Policy Statement. The scheme was to develop the proposals and provide supporting information for a Planning Submission, which resulted in a positive outcome.

Mayer Brown’s Role:

Mayer Brown were involved in transportation planning, surface water drainage, flood risk and highway design.

Particular tasks included:
 

• Transportation advise to satisfy the Planning Authority during the Examination In Public.
• Preparation of a Traffic Impact Assessment in support of the Planning Application.
• Liaison with Environment Agency Wales with respect to watercourse capacity and ecology, including TAN15 report.
• Liaison with Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and City & County of Swansea regarding adoptability of SUDS.
• Vertical and horizontal highway design on challenging topography, ensuring access to properties and adequate visibility.
