Proposed Bulk Materials Store, Lansil Way, Lancaster

Project Section:

Transport Planning & Infrastructure Design

Client:

Carrs Billington Agriculture Ltd

Scheme Objectives:

To provide transport planning support in relation to the proposed bulk materials store, handling plant and packing facility at Lansil Way, Lancaster.

Mayer Brown’s Role:

Mayer Brown’s North West office produced a transport statement and travel plan for the site.
Lancashire County Council and Lancaster City Council were sensitive to the impact that the development may cause on a local junction, particularly with reference to HGV movements. Detailed assessments of the junction’s vehicle movements highlighted the impact from development would be minimal, which was accepted by the local authority and the scheme was recommended for approval.
Site accessibility was reviewed using GIS plots and HGV access checked via specialist Autotrack software.
