Telford Office Profile

Mayer Brown’s Telford office is the latest addition to the Company and provides expertise in Transport Planning and Highways Design.

Since opening in August 2007, Mayer Brown Telford has supported new and existing projects predominantly on behalf of lead client Sainsburys, playing an integral part in securing planning permission for a number of new stores and store extensions for the retailer in the South and South East regions.

“The Telford office has gone from strength to strength since first opening its doors last year.” says Stephen Checketts, Regional Manager in Telford.

“As a result, we are currently in a stage of continuous growth to provide the expert resource required to meet client demand.

The team here in Telford has worked tirelessly to satisfy the needs of our clients through our work, whilst striving to develop new opportunities across a range of transport disciplines.

Most importantly, each individual is a team player and values the reputation and integrity of the office above all else.’’

In addition to Transport Planning, the office is also home to the Company’s innovative Travel Planning arm, through which a number of exciting opportunities have been developed.

Travel Planning Project Leader, Gareth Woodberry says “From day one, the Telford office has worked to ensure that the Mayer Brown brand becomes synonymous with Travel Planning in the UK.

We are developing some truly unique opportunities in Travel Planning, which in time will completely change the way we think about travelling.”

To reinforce its intention to deliver best practice in Travel Planning and establish Mayer Brown as a leader in the field, the Telford office now offers a fully comprehensive service range, to suit clients from a wide variety of industry sectors.

Our team here in Telford is fully equipped and able to provide a diverse range of services, to ensure realistic and achievable results for our clients.” added Gareth Woodberry.

Our core work lies in the design; delivery and monitoring of bespoke Travel Plans, and we are also actively involved in a number of area-wide Travel Plan frameworks.

For clients with multi-site operational responsibilities, we are now able to offer bespoke Travel Planning software – enabling us to build large quantities of Travel Plans quickly and cost efficiently, and we are also developing new opportunities with Loughborough University to improve Travel Plan educational courses offered in the UK.”

Richard Broad has recently joined the Telford office as a Graduate Transport Planner. “Since joining the Mayer Brown Telford office it is quite obvious that the team is ‘going places’. In a few short months, workloads have increased, and my knowledge in both Transport Planning and Travel Planning has developed exponentially as a result of the range of projects in both areas that I have been involved with.”
