Mayer Brown supporting Home Zone research
 
Staff at Mayer Brown's Preston office are supporting Edinburgh College of Art, Heriot Watt University, University of Edinburgh, Salford University and Oxford Brooks University for their research into Home Zone design.

The Engineering and Physical Science Research Council funded project will review the impact of home zone design on the elderly and disabled.  The research is the second phase of the Inclusive Design for Getting Outdoors project, and will run over the next four years.

Mayer Brown staffs experience within the development, design and implementation of Home Zone schemes in the UK and mainland Europe will contribute 'on site' experience to the research team.
 
Speed Management Lectures
 
Mark Butt,the Regional Manager of the North West office in Preston, is to lecture on Speed Management on behalf of the PTRC in the new year.  He will be speaking at venues in Manchester and Wakefield on traffic calming techniques, speed enforcement and home zone design.  These lectures form part of a 20 week course covering all aspects of traffic and transportation.
